Dana is simply incredible, but not only for her work (which speaks for itself - one of the beauties of the visual arts) but also for her presence. She has the ability to always understand when she has to be invisible, when to give direction, when to say something encouraging, when to make a joke, when to hold a hand... We had the pleasure of having her support during a much-unwanted c-section and also during a newborn session a couple of weeks later. Just to give you an example of her talent and approach, she met with our doula and gave her bootcamp style photography training so she could take pictures in the OR (no photographers were allowed due to COVID). Even though she was not in the OR with us, she was able to create a beautiful birth portfolio that makes us tear up every time we see it. We can't imagine the time it took her to turn these images into art. As much as I did not want a c-section, these images allow me to see the beauty of it all and brought a peaceful closure to our birth story. To show how personable she is, I can simply say that my husband, not the biggest fan of photography sessions, said he would do one with her anytime.
